A Methodology for Anthroposophically-Based Biographical Counselling
Introduction
This book is the outcome of my participation in Mr. Zvi (Henri) Briger’s biographical workshops, which I then conveyed to my students. Ever since 2011, Briger (1933-2020), a biographical counsellor and spiritual researcher, has been imparting the knowledge of Anthroposophical Biography as founded by Dr Rudolf Steiner. This knowledge, which was gained over many years, was conveyed by means of inspirational and creative workshops, to which he added his own interpretations and the results of his research.
After I myself had held several of these workshops for my students at the ‘Hotam’ School for Anthroposophical Biographical Counselling and Karma Research, I decided to edit the material, and publish it with a few additions as a book, titled Longing and Self-Sacrifice, A Methodology for Anthroposophically-Based Biographical Counselling’.
This book is intended for students of Spiritual Science, biographical counsellors, Waldorf School educators, anthroposophical doctors, other therapists, and anyone interested in spiritual development based on the Spiritual Science of Anthroposophy, as reflected in biography.
The exercises in the book can be practiced individually, in pairs or in groups.
The genesis of the evolution of our solar system is in the Spirits of Will – Thrones. They are the great sacrificers that created the primary, primeval warmth on Ancient Saturn. This primary warmth was the initial physical body of what in future will be a human being. The action of the Hierarchies on the planets is the action of Spirit on Material in an immediate and direct form.
Without will, no action can be formed in the world` The will is active in the human being from childhood, as an extremely powerful element. The will is active through the body that, in turn, takes action in the world. The will revitalizes the body. Without will the body returns to being matter.
